Thanks to Kohl’s for providing the rug for this post.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken pictures of the twins’ bedroom for the blog. (Mainly, because you usually have to wade through toys and clothes to even get to the beds.) While it was cleaned up—for a minute—I thought I’d show you how it’s coming along. . .
I loved the green I used in their last room so much that I painted it the exact same color. I also reused the framed pages from this favorite book, and since I already had the pillows, a plan for a boy/girl shared room was born.
I really lucked out with the furniture for their room. I found the beds at a yard sale in our neighborhood for $35 a piece, and bought a faux bamboo set from Craigslist that included a desk and two chest of drawers. Even the little wicker stool was a thrift store find.
And, my latest addition—and the thing that I think really finishes the room—is a big area rug. The rug is by Mohawk Home at Kohl’s. (Did you even know that Kohl’s carried Mohawk rugs??) They approached me about using one in our home, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of great ones they have online.
The pattern on the floor is what was missing—and is helpful in covering up carpet I eventually want to replace. They do actually play trains and puzzles (and wrestling) in their floor, and it’s just plush enough for all of that. :)
