My Colorful Summer Table (Video)

I love the look of table settings with lots of layers and patterns mixed together. In this week’s video for Wayfair, I created a colorful Summer tablescape and am dissecting the details for you. (Tablescape sounds so fancy, doesn’t it? But, you could throw this together in less than half an hour and totally impress your lunch guests. . .)

I also put together a pretty little centerpiece with a few things from the grocery store:

Side note: It looks like I’ve been out all night to “the club”, thanks to my wristband. It was from a basketball tournament, I promise. :) I ran home between games to shoot the video, and there was no way I was paying again to get back into the gym! (Weekend multi-tasking at its best.)

How To Create a DIY Outdoor “Kitchen”

Grilling season is upon us, and in my latest video for Wayfair’s YouTube channel, I’m showing you a super simple way to impress your guests. Even if you’re short on patio space, you can create the look of a pretty outdoor “kitchen” (aka grilling/serving station) using stone pavers from your local home improvement store.

In case you’re wondering, I used 60 pavers for this project. (They are usually around $3 a piece, but I got them on a weekend when they were on sale.)

A Favorite Things Party

I went to such a great party over the weekend and thought I’d share, in case you’re looking for something fun to do with your girlfriends at Christmas—or any time of the year, really. This was my first experience at a “favorite things party” and this is how it works:

Our price limit was $10, and I took sets of these little patterned dip bowls from Target, because I like dip. (Duh.)

I came home with a bouquet of fresh flowers, Idina Menzel’s Christmas CD, and a pair of the #1 rated running socks (which is appropriate since I really like dip).

One reason this party was so fun is that is was a fairly small group (about 12-15 of us). You could do this with larger groups, too, though.
