I plan to start decorating for Christmas next weekend but already have some ideas swimming in my head and have ordered a few new things to bring in fresh color. For the most part, I’ll repeat what I did last year–same trees, same front door wreath and garland. And, we plan to buy fresh wreaths for our exterior windows on Black Friday (probably at Home Depot). I do find it helpful to make a Christmas decorating list during this week, taking inventory of what I have and what I need to order now. Sometimes, I’ll even create a little moodboard like the one below, pulling things from around the house, just to make sure that what I’m envisioning will all work together. My new additions this year are dark green and chartreuse velvet pillow covers, paper stars, colorful tapers and white ornaments. (I may also repeat the balloon trick.)
I’m inspired by your new additions – especially the pillow covers. How easy is that. Thank you, Emily ✔️
Glad to hear it! An easy–and pretty inexpensive change. I’m just using them over my existing pillow covers.
Love everything you have selected. Look forward to seeing the final display.
