Welcome to a new little series I’m calling “FILED.” I’m forever saving images I love and don’t want to forget. They might spark an idea that makes me get up and immediately start moving furniture, or the photograph could come to mind years later when I’m trying to figure out something new for my space. For each of these posts, I’ll be sharing one quick image with a few notes on what I love about it and how you might recreate the look. I hope it helps–or if nothing else, fills up your own Pinterest inspiration folders.

I will forever love a desk in front of a window. I like that this spot doesn’t take up a lot of space but feels so layered and personal at the same time. The variety and arrangement of art immediately caught my eye. Notice the mix of frames, canvas and even a print tacked to the wall. (Don’t forget you can hang artwork over your windows–and doors, if you’re brave.) This spot also has texture galore–the window shade, the rug and that amazing vintage chair paired with a simple desk. But, the two touches that really make this perfect to me are the pleated, patterned shade and that touch of light blue on the window trim.
Wow! This photo is an instant mood lifter and has me itching to give my home office a makeover. The light blue color on the window trim is so inspiring. I also really like the lampshade. Thank you so much; you’ve brightened my day!
I’m so glad! This space does feel happy, doesn’t it? :)
So inviting. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love this! Keep ‘em coming!
Love this! I’m with you on the soft blue window detail!
To me, what truly makes this absolutely perfect are two beautiful touches: the pleated, patterned shade and the gentle hint of light blue on the window trim. 😊
Thanks for this Inspiration!!
