If you subscribe to my newsletter, I shared that we’re in the process of converting part of our upstairs attic to an extra room and landing/office space. The construction part is almost complete and I just found carpet at a local warehouse. I’m now at the point of finalizing paint color decisions and have pretty much stuck with my initial vision. I’m sharing a few more thoughts on the design plan below.
I bought those sconces for my daughter, and they are great! We hardwired them and it worked beautifully.
Great! I haven’t ordered any sconces yet but I love the way those look.
LOVE! Do you have a source for the white desk / console table?
Thanks! It’s from Ballard. Of course, it was the one thing I forgot to link :)

Kentucky vintage bb photos , etsy. Some came right up😉
Would be interested to hear about the construction process!
Also love the leather chairs; any idea what brand they are?
Ballard. I linked them under the idea board.
We are big UK fans. My husband played highschool ball in Albany KY and his coach played for Rupp at UK. I may be able to find some old team prints of the players. I feel sure i have seen some at his family home (We have lived in Nashville since college years ago but the family farm is still in KY)
That’s so cool!
Love how you are using the green grey paint with the rest of the colour scheme. I would not have thought of that but wow – it will be great.
That space is going to be beautiful!
How lucky you are to have the space to convert and I can’t wait to see it all finished. So glad to have you back to blogging!
Thanks, Barb! Yes, that walk up attic was a big selling point for us when we bought the house.
Love it all!
I love your design perspective and the direction you’re taking this space! Classic and fun all in one!
It’s gonna look great!
I’m excited to see the final results!
I like everything in your plan. Can’t wait to see it!
This is going to be beautiful! If there is more carpet than you need at the warehouse would you share the name of the name of the source?
I’m not sure about the stock but I found it at the Carpet Warehouse on Independence Blvd.
Thank you!
Stunning details
Beautiful plan! Anxious to see the results when you are finished!
Love it all. Is the bedroom a guest room or for one of your children?
We have a third floor that we call “the dorm.” It’s the perfect place for our younggrandchildren to stay when they visit from out of town. (Charlotte, NC is one of those places.) Congrats on using your spare space so well. You will never regret it.
I love that. Would make me very happy to fill that room with grandkids one day. :)
I love the Pewter Green paint! What a great winter reading space that would be. I can’t wait to see it all finished.
What is your connection to Kentucky basketball? I am right here in central Ky and will keep an eye out for old team photos! I’ve seen them often, but now that I’m looking they’ll be scarce!
We’re both from Kentucky and there are some big Wildcat fans in our house!
I love your design style & the patterns you put together. My brain isn’t wired to mix & match in that way so I’m very interested in your choices. The green paint is so great – never would have thought to use it with your other choices. Really looking forward to the reveal on this one. I agree with another post – traditional but fun. That’s you! So glad you’re “back”!
Thank you, Penny!
What a great space! We have a very similar leopard carpet in our study and love it!
I’ve always loved leopard carpet. :)
