I promised more small decorating updates so here’s a spot I recently tweaked. My open kitchen shelves are hardworking and it’s easy for them to look haphazard. A few changes is all it took to give them a cleaner look.
What I changed:
- I added height by leaning art (16×20) to the top shelves. (Our ceilings are 8′ for reference.)
- I will always love a countertop lamp. I used this one with texture and a simple white shade.
- I took away the bits of blue for a cleaner look and displayed all white dishes.
- I stored everything else that we don’t use on an (almost) daily basis. Our kitchen doesn’t have tons of storage so the fewer decorative pieces on display, the better.
Love seeing your posts. I appreciate how you break everything down – how large the artwork is, how high the ceilings are, etc. The updates look great!
Your comments on what wasn’t working is really helpful. I gave up Insta a long time ago so it’s good to “see” you around here.
