I’m always up for ways to make our house prettier and more functional so I’m not sure why it hasn’t occurred to me to try out a machine washable rug before now. This pass-through is hands down where I spend the most time in our kitchen. I’ve used a couple of different runners but they ended up getting gross so quickly. Something I can throw the washer and dryer on a regular basis is ideal.
I really like the texture and weight of this one. It’s not too thick and lays flat while still being soft on bare feet. (I do recommend a rug pad to prevent slipping.) When I was ready to wash, it fit with lots of room to spare in my large capacity washer.
It’s also hard to beat the price. This runner was just $46. I already have another washable rug in my cart for our master bath. I think I’ll replace the two bathmats between our shower and tub with one of these in a larger size. Washable rugs are also ideal for kids’ rooms, anyone with allergies, under a dining table, mudrooms and any high traffic spots. There are lots of great patterns available online at Walmart Home with free 2-day shipping (over $35) and several sizes/colors. They also offer free online or in-store returns. I’m sharing some of my favorites below.
