With everyone home now and running from practices to pool and back again, Summer may not be the time to take on any major home projects. I do, however, find that making small changes around our house can make me feel better about a space–and may even give me the motivation to clean it. :) That’s the approach I’m taking in our upstairs bathroom, anyway! It can be as simple as adding more storage or updating your hand towels. Keep reading for 20 small(!) Summer refresh ideas for your bath. . .
ONE. Add a small lamp on the counter for cozy night lighting if you have the space. TWO. A bold shower curtain is the easiest way to change up the look of a bathroom. THREE. Fresh white towels. FOUR. New countertop accessories are an easy change but often overlooked. FIVE. A fresh scent. (These candles look more expensive than they are.) SIX. Replace a builder grade mirror with a decorative one–or a pair–above the sink. SEVEN. Place a small stool beside the tub for towels, bath products, etc. EIGHT. Replace a worn-out laundry hamper or roll up towels in a pretty basket. NINE. Display what you use regularly (cotton swabs, soaps, etc.) in glass canisters on the counter. TEN. Patterned bowls to hold accessories on the counter–or to organize drawers. ELEVEN. If you have the wall space, an etagere is perfect for towel storage. TWELVE. Need more closed storage? Try a cabinet instead and make it a little vignette with a pretty piece of art above. THIRTEEN. Speaking of art, this lemon print is fun for adding Summer color. FOURTEEN. Personally, all my of my bathmats have seen better days. FIFTEEN. Bins work great on shelves or even under the counter to hold extra towels, hair tools and toiletries. SIXTEEN. Beach towels are big and these stripes look great even when hanging on a hook to dry. SEVENTEEN. Love little trays to gather jewelry and small pieces on the counter. EIGHTEEN. Plants are great, but if you don’t have the inclination (or a window in your bath), faux succulents can add some green. NINETEEN. Display a favorite photo in the bathroom. (Love this hinged frame.) TWENTY. Try an outdoor rug in front of your sink. They’re durable and most are easy to hose off.
