I’ve been contemplating a change to my office (aka multifunction room) for a while. I thought about repainting the walls (first red, then maybe brown. . . ) or changing out the table but nothing was really clicking for me. Then Revival Rugs reached out about partnering on a project and I suddenly had a vision. Maybe the change I needed was on the floor instead of the walls.
Revival Rugs specializes in one-of-a-kind vintage rugs, with a small team of people in the US and Turkey working directly with artisans and collectors. There are so many beautiful options on the site and I love the “view in my room” feature that lets you upload your photo and test out each rug virtually. (This was so helpful as I was torn between two.)
I chose the Rouslan, a handwoven rug that’s rich in color, because I loved the idea of adding some red but the dark blues and grays work with the walls and adjoining living room. It’s approximately 6×10′ and I was able to layer it over our existing jute rug that’s seen better days. . . And if you’re wondering about mixing in more pattern with a very patterned rug–you can.
I think it’s a good first step. Next, I’m adding a different light–and moving the existing one to another room.
Thanks to Revival Rugs for supplying the rug for this post. All opinions are my own.
That rug is gorgeous! Your office looks great.
Beautiful new rug – I am constantly on the lookout for new rug and lighting sources (thank you!) and looking forward to your new lighting selection! ☺️
Hi Emily,
I love what you’ve done in this room! Can you tell me about the art over the piano?
Thanks for sharing your home and creativity with the world, yours is one of my favorite home blogs :)

I found the framed canvas at a yard sale. It was a big ugly beach print and I spray painted over it. Recently, I just added the black :)
oooo, I like!
Gorgeous interior! I love it
Definitely makes the space feel homier, it is a gorgeous rug.!
