In a Pinterest world where white and gray rooms abound, I was instantly drawn to the warm color combo of blue and rust I found in the latest project from Stephanie of Sabbe Interior Design. This palette is rich, cozy and sophisticated–and looks great with gold and green accents. And while taking the colors onto the walls and cabinetry is one option, these colors are just as rich in small doses when used against a more neutral background. I’ve included a few examples at the bottom of the post of how you might incorporate these shades in pillows, art and upholstery.
This entire house is beautiful. (Check out that library above the bathtub!) See the full tour here.
I enjoying viewing your blog; however I struggling accessing it recently. I’m not sure if I’m the only one or if others are having an issue as well. If I google Emily A. Clark and access your blog from there I am not able to get the most recent post. It is several weeks old.
Thanks, Stephanie. It’s not just you :( Can you tell me if you’re looking at my site on your phone or computer and which browser you’re using?
I have this problem, too. I am on an I phone 8 plus using Safari.
Do you mind sharing the color you chose for the mood board? I’m considering a similar color for my living room remodel and that would be a great starting point. Thanks!
Hi Lauren, they are Warmed Cognac and Downpour Blue by Benjamin Moore.
Love this color combo. Was looking at a grey and white house today on a blog and decided I am so over the coldness of it. Love it when some warmth is brought in. Thanks for sharing
The Sabbe Interiors home is breathtaking! I went to her site and noticed that she is located nearby! Her color combinations are brilliant and unusual. Thank you!
I love this combo! I wonder what color rust is on that wall? Hard to get it right so it’s not too orange.
Thanks for this! My great room colors are primarily a slate blue and rust, and it’s a color combination I love. I always like seeing other examples of how it’s done.
Love blue and rust and have always used that palette in my living room! Also, I wear that combo often: rust and denim is my uniform!
I’m new to finding you, and also having trouble. I am using my iPhone- and typing in emilyaclark.com
I would love to access your posts newest to old, ideally. Right now I can see today’s, but then the next one available to click takes me to an entry several years old. I still love everything I see :)
This problem just gets stranger. Thanks for the info.
Good news since I have orange brick fireplace and rust couch. I do use blue and spring chartreuse accessories and it looks good. Blue and orange are compliments on the color wheel which you probably know.
Hi emily- I have had the hardest time finding your blog post too. I am using firefox my laptop and have not made any changes on my end. The only way I see your new posts is to go to the right side and search posts by the month. I hope you have an IT department that can solve this- super weird… but at least others are having the same issue. Thanks for keeping something pretty and encouraging to keep our minds off all the stress we have little control over. LOVE the rust and blue combo… I just ordered 2 of these beauties-

Thanks, Jennifer. This whole website issue is so frustrating. I do have someone looking at it.
Cool chairs, btw!
I have followed your blog for years and this post is in my top five favorites!
