I’ve seen several geometric art collections recently that have caught my attention and kept marking the idea for a future DIY project. So when I was at IKEA a few weeks ago, I picked up eight of the $3.99 Ribba 8×10 frames and got to work. (You can see some of my inspiration here, here and here.)
This project couldn’t be easier. I had planned to paint on paper grocery bags but then realized it would be even easier to use the backing that came with the frame. I outlined the size of the mat first and then drew different geometric shapes (grab a plastic lid or bowl!) before I started painting. Remember, it’s quantity that makes the impact here, not necessarily perfection. ;)
For the green, I used some touch up paint from our kitchen cabinets. I’m hanging them in our living room (more pics to come) and I like how it ties the two rooms together in a small way.
