I’m back with another installment of my Styling Simplified series, venturing away from my norm this time with “vintage chic” accessories. This style isn’t to be confused with shabby chic. While it brings antique (or antique-inspired) pieces into play, they’re mixed with modern, sleek accessories to give your space a pulled-together look. It’s really about mixing old and new, curves with straight lines, matte finishes with sleek and shiny. Real-life examples might include a traditional wood pedestal table paired with modern ghost chairs or a French-inspired settee paired with a sleek brass chandelier.
So here’s the fun part: everything featured on this board was found on Walmart.com, even the oversized floral painting and vintage-inspired rug that will have people asking if you’ve been scouring the flea market. It could all be easily mixed with family heirlooms or pieces you may already own. Walmart.com makes it easy to find what you’re looking for with everyday low prices (that brass chandelier is a steal at $69!) and by grouping home decor into different style categories. (As always, there’s free 2-day shipping on orders over $35 and free returns on most items.)
Have you done “vintage chic” in your home? I’d love to hear your ideas.

We’re moving into our new home next week and most of the furniture I’ve ordered fits the “vintage chic” category, but I didn’t realize that, ha! We ordered a new thick wood table top on turned legs stained black for our dining room to be paired with 10 ghost chairs. All the items I’ve chosen are a mix of old and new and now I’m grateful that my style isn’t just eclectic, but vintage chic ;).
I have a 1960s Danish modern table – what style chair could I mix with it to achieve this style? I have found vintage mid-century chairs but they are always out of my price range or too few in number. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I’m kind of picturing a really simple parsons style chair in a rich velvet. 🤷🏻♀️
What are the paint colors above, and what should I paint our walls?
