Since I end up buying Christmas presents for a good range of ages, I’m sharing my gift ideas for both younger and older kids. The younger kids are fun. They like anything and forget what they’d asked for in the first place! The older kids (mine are 14 and almost 13) are tricky. They like small, expensive things–and did I mention, they’re very specific? By the way, I asked my son and daughter to add a suggestion to this list. She said a water bottle. He said an xBox (basically the love of his life–for now) so, there you go. . .

Emily – I just want to thank you for taking the time to write the gift guide post. I bought the vtech watches for my niece and nephew over a year ago and they are still a hit! I had no clue what kids their age wanted, but thanks to your recommendation, I am a super star aunt:) Wishing you all a relaxing thanksgiving!
HI Emily, Happy Thanksgiving :) Can you fix the link to the older kid gaming system? It isn’t working…thank you! Love the gift guide – it has helped me a lot!
I think the one I linked to must have sold out. Here’s the same one, with the game he’s obsessed with…. http://bit.ly/2R1OJ1q
This bundle just doesn’t include the Echo Dot. Hope that helps.
Emily, thanks for the great suggestions. We’ve got four kids, and as you know, after a while you run out of fresh ideas. (I love hand-me-downs, but the littlest guys have to get something new every now and then 😉)
Thank you for your blog / content / sharing / perspective. It is a welcome bit of sunshine in my day. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Emily did you recommend watercolor paint pens for 11.99? I can’t find it now. If you did, can you send me that link? Thanks so much, Kathy
I feel like I did but I now I can’t find them either! :) I did order these recently for a gift….
