I’m forever making small changes to our home which I don’t always consider significant enough for a blog post. But, it occurred to me that maybe some of these changes could trigger small ideas for your home, as well. Some of you have mentioned that you like when I share the “why” behind my design decisions. So I’m making more of an effort to share the quick changes and my thought process behind them, starting with this ottoman switch-up in our kitchen sitting area.
Looking for something similar? This ottoman comes in lots of colors and patterns! (Images below are linked.)
You can see our entire green and white kitchen makeover here.
I copied your previous one. Loved the price, but my two year old destroyed it rubbing her feet all over it : )
Aaaah, yes! Everything is temporary with kids, isn’t it??! 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks so much for the ‘why’ you made the change. You are right…helps us look at our own areas differently!
Looks great and makes sense, Emily! quick question…where did you buy your corkboard…or did you have it custom made? Thanks!
Thanks! It’s from Ballard Designs but I don’t think they still make that size :(
Love this, thank you! We have a sortof-breakfast area in our house off the kitchen that flows into the family room and I’m thinking about making the breakfast area into something like this once we get our dining room set up! No need to have two dining areas, would love to have a more “casual” place for a quick bite or a cup of tea.
Thank you for always giving modern traditional inspiration!
I think you’ll love it. I use this spot (and our island) way more than our kitchen table. :)
Those chairs!! Source? They are always soooooo expensive when I find them!
Ours are from Ballard Designs.
Perfect addition and explanation, too. Makes me appreciate our two chairs and a side table, with a garden stool (off to the side) combo in our kitchen area. All are grandkid compatible! (7)
I love these little updates! I can’t swing a big change right not, but little tweaks are very inspiring!
Love the comments that explain the change. Would love more blog posts like this.
Definitely worthy of a post. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this little change Emily! I bought an ottoman similar for our living room, but just like you all of the other furniture seems a bit more formal. I’m definitely considering this ottoman in the bright pink!
Love that color!
