Another quick change around our house–this time, in our entryway. I bought this tiny vanity for one of the girls’ rooms several years ago at a thrift store and it has been in our attic ever since. I’ve always loved the look of a basket tucked under a table in an entry and it suddenly hit me that I had just the right piece to create a new vignette at the foot of our stairs.
The lamp is a Ralph Lauren from HomeGoods, and I finally bought the pagoda from Ballard Designs. (The black chest found a new home in our powder room.)
See my last quick change post here.
And, see our blue and white entryway “before and after” here.
I like posts like these. Thanks for sharing!
I love these posts with small changes! I find them very inspiring.
Love the quick change posts! Thank you for these, and please keep them coming :)
I love all of your changes! Your style is so classic yet fun! I have a question about rugs. I notice that many bloggers don’t have rugs in front of the front door or at the bottom of stairs. Is it to keep clean lines for pictures or do you not feel they are necessary? I always struggle with coordinating colors of rugs between the front door and 2 adjoining spaces, without them looking too “matchy”. But I really feel like I need them to protect the floor. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
I think that this change would be better for spring rather than fall and winter.
I like these quick change posts too. They’re inspiring!
well well well… now we are going to need pictures of your powder room….
Okay, okay. When I find out how to photograph that dark little cave, I promise you’ll have them. :)
Love the vignette and great idea to shop your home! I would paint the vanity – raspberry, turquoise, orange, something to really make it pop from the wallpaper and trim/door.
I put a large oval shape basket under my roll top desk which is at the bottom of our stairs. Grandkids place their shoes in this basket when they come to visit. It keeps the foyer floor clear.
I love the new look for all the reasons you described. I like it “lighter and brighter” plus, I like how the white table and the pink flowers tie into the picture above the other table across from it in the entry. I love your style of decorating. Like someone else said – classic but fun!
Love! Any source list? Especially for the mirror, table, and basket?
