Found on Etsy: Pretty Pillow Pairings

March 20, 2018

I know a lot of you are looking for simple Spring refresh ideas and new pillows are always an easy solution. (The ones on our sofas literally take a beating during the Winter months.) I’ve taken the guesswork out of the pattern mixing process by putting together some colorful pairings I found on Etsy. (Almost all come in customizable sizes.)

Love the pairings and the various color choices, not all just blue and white sameness! Love the way you show us how to pull out the different colors without being boring at all. Thanks!

I have a sofa and matching love seat. I am in desperate need to pillows but don’t know how to choose them exactly. I lean towards making all 4 sides the same but that seems boring. Thoughts?

I think it’s totally personal preference–and how much symmetry you need in your life. :)

So that it’s not pillow overload, I might just do bigger sizes (24″ or so) and do three on the sofa and and a couple on the love seat. I think that would help to break up matching furniture a little.

Awesome pairings! Love the last row chinoiserie print. I haven’t seen that one! Also love that crane. So many beautiful pillows, too few places to put them. Sigh…

Help! I have really lovely and expensive deep cinnamon colored couches. Would I buy them again? No but they are very high quality and I can’t afford to replace them right now. What pillows would you use for a spring update?

Of course my first thought is that some fresh blue and white palette would work with a darker cinnamon color. . . :)

I love all of these pairings! It’s tough to go wrong with any of those. What would you recommend for an outdoor brown wicker dining table set that has ivory colored cushions on the chairs? Searching for pillows that add a pop of color on the patio chairs….would you recommend 2 or 4 pillows? Matching or all different?

Just what I needed in the middle of this Nor’Easter… at least I can bring some fresh and bright touches inside. Love your suggestions and I think the second row is right for me. Thank you, Emily!

I know this is a really dumb question, but where do you buy the inserts for pillow from? And, should the inserts be the same size as the pillow covers? I don’t know why this is such a mystery to me

Not a dumb question. My favorite inexpensive ones are the down ones from IKEA. I always buy pillow covers 2″ smaller than the insert so they’ll fill out well.
