A belated happy new year! I literally just lost a week of my life, thanks to the flu bug (and no thanks to my flu shot. . . ). We returned from Christmas vacation on New Year’s Eve and I went to bed at 4:00 that afternoon, only to stay down for most of the next week. I’m up but still not feeling 100% back to myself. It’s been a rough one. . .
If you want to start your new year in a downward spiral, you should try laying in bed for a week with matted hair and a throbbing headache while watching everyone else’s Instagram stories. I should know better. While the laundry has piled up here, I’ve watched snippets of the rest of the world going to the gym every day, organizing their spices, color coding their closets and making a week’s worth of Whole 30 meals.
All that to say, I feel like I’m starting the year at a deficit. My plan for the next several days is to continue to crawl my way out of the mess that accumulated around here while mama was down and then to take some inventory of the blog. I definitely anticipate continuing at a slower pace online as other areas of life keep racing full speed ahead. (Interestingly enough, I was looking back at older posts and my thoughts last year at this time mirror the ones I’m having now.) Although I may not be blogging on a regular basis, I would love for you to follow along on Instagram.
