Our Porch Makeover: Painting the Floor

May 9, 2017

I wanted to give you all an update on our porch makeover that I’m working on for the FrogTape Paintover Challenge and hoping to win $5000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. (More details here, in case you missed last week’s post.) The biggest job is finished and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I gave our dirty porch floor a brand new look with a good pressure washing and a gallon of green paint. But first, I taped off the perimeter with FrogTape so that I didn’t have any mishaps on our recently painted white porch.

I used a paint specifically for porch and patio floors. I included a snap of the paint can label (from The Home Depot) so that you can pin or screenshot in case you want to replicate. I was able to do the job with two (rolled) coats and by following up with a brush in the cracks.

Yay for clean lines!

I’ll show you the entire finished porch next week. But, for now, here’s a quick look:

For some reason I was expecting an emarld green. But your choice is really lovely. With the blues you’re adding, it’s going to look so pretty.
