Not to brag, but I got a perfect score. :)

The most popular kitchen countertop is no longer granite. Or so they say. . .

I always like a good exterior transformation.

Oh great, I have quartz! Whew! Dodged a bullet there ;) ;) ;) Love Jenna Sue’s cottage!
Well, we just put in honed granite so it’s already outdated, I suppose. . . How will I live with that? ;)
Ha! I got 100% on that quiz, too! Although I’ll admit I guessed on at least one. There are blogs I’ve started to follow that have turned me off because of the incorrect grammar; but not yours!
I love your style, Emily. Since becoming a regular reader, a few years ago, I’ve started to make small changes to my home that more reflect a timeless, classic style. Much needed! Thank you for taking the time to bring beautiful inspiration to those of us who are a bit lacking in the decor area!
I love and really look forward to the Saturday Six! Thank you for taking the time to do it — it’s been fun discovering new sites to visit and bookmark.
I’m sure you’re smart enough to have designed your kitchen with colors & products you love. And not with things that are current or trendy. And even though the article stated that granite isn’t used as much as it once was, I think they’re referring to the splotchy golden toned granites so popular when the Tuscan style was in. I think black granite will always be a classic choice.
Thank you for the article on growing out bangs. I’m currently trying to grow mine out…..AGAIN!!!
Have a lovely weekend.
You know no one on HGTV house hunters have gotten the granite message. :). Actually there’s some granite I still really love just not a fan of the brown speckled kind! Jenna Sue was my favorite post this week on the home blogs. The kitchen is just beautiful!!
Perfect score for me, too!
Oh my! I just took the grammar quiz & got 100%. A couple of them I guessed, but I’ll still take it!
Lol
Thanks for these inspiring posts. I think since you rethought your blog a while back you have really taken it to new heights. Love love that I have found a style that I connect with. A more traditional style is not so popular here on the west coast so blogs are my inspiration. Now, if only finding things to buy was so easy here in Canada.
I always look forward to the Saturday 6 – thank you!
#3…me, too! #grammarnerd
I got a perfect grammar score as well, which is a relief as I’m an elementary teacher!
Perfect score! I have a grammar police mug someone at work bought me ;-)
I have honed granite too and I love it. It is like the mascara of my kitchen and I don’t think mascara ever goes out of style. I really loved this Saturday 6. I rarely spend time going through the blogs after the initial page you share, but this time I found myself lost in these blogs for an hour! Oops!
A perfect grammar score for me because I’m picky like that lol.
Ha, ha, who cares what’s the newest fickle choice is out there—go with what you like or love! Honed is the new soapstone anyway. :) We have a soft-colored granite with a simple, non-busy marble backsplash which will never go out of style. Granite will probably come back “in” before we move to another place anyway. (This is our 12th house and we’ve seen lots of things come and go over the years.:)
Personally, I love granite cause the maintenance is really simple and I can place my hot pans on it with no fear; after all it is a rock! With manufactured “stone”, like quartz, I had to chase around trivets which just doesn’t suit my habits in the kitchen.
Emily, thank you for link to Jenna Sue – I’ve spent days trawling her site, and now it’s only half way to the next Saturday 6!

Not to brag…but so did I. haha. And! I was surprised. :D
I have granite and if we built again? I’d have the outdated granite again.
