When we decided on a long kitchen island, there was one wall behind the stools that needed to be filled—with something. Since the kitchen is really the heart of our home (and I was determined to find a place to use library sconces), I went with a gallery wall of our family pictures.
I’m sharing three quick tips for creating a similar look in a new Wayfair video on YouTube.
To keep so many frames from feeling too heavy, I layered white frames with white mats on the white wall. All of the white also keeps the color photographs from looking too busy. (I still love color photography—don’t you?) By the way, I had these 5×7’s printed at CVS and was happy with the quality—and white borders.

Love this wall. You did a great job. I would love an entire kitchen tour video. Have you done that yet? ( Not asking for much! LOL )
I really missed your Saturday Six. Hope you were just busy and have not decided to give it up.
Normally I don’t like gallery walls because of how “busy” they look but I think this way of displaying pictures is very pretty indeed and not cluttered looking.
Also a great job on the Wayfair video Emily!
Thank you very much for sharing those 3 great tips! I love your kitchen gallery wall.

You are just too good!! This looks amazing! I so want a wall like this but I’m so bad at hanging things straight! Paul and I might need counseling after hanging this many pictures! I’d love any tips on how you evenly space!
I love how this turned out! The light fixture are a total game changer too!
OK. I’m going to follow the link to see your finished wall, but your daughter! She is so cute! That little smile made it worth visiting your blog today.
Thanks, Karen :)
Gorgeous! And yes, I love color photos!!
I love how all the green and blue in the colored pictures work with your kitchen. Gorgeous.
Love the gallery wall and those awesome swing arm sconces! One thing is missing though. I want to see pictures of your gallery wall lit up in the evening, because it has to be striking.
Thanks, Erin. I do love it at night. I’ll try to post a pic of that on Instagram soon. :)
I am missing something! I can’t find the completed gallery. I watch the video, but I’m still not seeing the whole wall which I would love to see!
It’s in the video but here’s a photo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BQgIb1ZFspn/?taken-by=emilyaclark
How do you add a border to the prints at CVS? Or does it come standard. I don’t see it as an option online.
It just came that way at my CVS.
What size are the frames and where did you purchase them from?
Natalie
Hi, These are the frames I used.
Wall is stunning. Can you please share where you purchased the frames.
Thank you
Hi Tracy, I used these frames with autograph mats so I’d get a lot of white.
How far apart Did you space the frames from one another?
