When we designed our kitchen, I knew I wanted open shelves. I had experimented with them in our last house and really liked how easy they were for storing the things we use almost every day. But coming up with the right mix of useful and eye-pleasing can be a little tricky. In my latest YouTube video for Wayfair, I’m sharing how to style and layer your open shelving in a few simple steps.

Love this post! Do you have a source for those stunning shelves?
Hi Amy–They were built by our contractor’s team.
Looks great! Will we ever get to see your full kitchen reno?? Can’t wait!
Yes–working on post now.
Exquisite and unique with the details of the wall behind. You see this a lot but yours is one of the best.
Where are your small blue stacking glasses from?
Thanks, Kathyrne. I found those glasses on One Kings Lane clearance but it was months ago and I don’t see them listed anymore.
Did you add the campaign details to the shelves yourself or did you find them like this? Seems like a great way to dress up ready made shelves! I want to get rid of my over the range microwave and add shelves to open the space up more.
I did. I’ve gotten so many questions about the shelves since yesterday that I’m planning to do a separate post with details next week. :)
Open shelves is an old dream of mine, but I never thought it would be as practical as normal cabinets. Reading your post just gave me courage to finally go after it. Thank you! :)
