I’m signing off for the year a little earlier than usual, but I feel like you can probably live without any more last-minute gift guides or Christmas tree decorating ideas at this point. ;) Five more days! Our kids are out of school after today, and I’m excited about shutting my laptop for a while.
I’m feeling the Christmas spirit more than I have in a while. We’ve had three incredible weeks of services at our church, and I’ve just spent more time thinking about what Jesus’ coming to our earth in human form really meant for me, for us all. (And, I’m happy to tell you more personally if you want to email me.) I hope you also have some “think time” in the next five crazy, activity-filled days.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Thank you all for a great 2016, for reading and for encouraging. I look forward to coming back refreshed and renewed in January. Merriest Christmas to you and yours!

Merry Christmas Emily!! Enjoy your holidays and thank you for reminding us about the true meaning of Christmas. Your nativity set is beautiful!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Emily! Thank you for another year of wonderful posts. Enjoy your time off from the blog – you’re very wise to give yourself extra time. Time with our children goes so quickly and these are the years for making memories. Like you, we’ve just had three beautiful Advent Sunday services that have deeply impacted me. I think I know the story of Jesus’ birth and then, the Lord shows me something new year after year. And I’m finding that the older I get, the more Christmas emphasizes the power of Easter for me. Have a blessed Christmas!!
Merry Christmas! How wonderful Jesus and your family is your focus. Thank you for your lovely blog but enjoy your family a while without thinking about work. :)
May you & your family be blessed beyond measure this Holiday Season and throughout 2017!

Merry Christmas!! Thank you for the inspiring content you provide! I read your blog consistently and applaud your ability to balance family life & blog life. Specifically, I’m referencing a recent post from Jen Hatmaker who implored her readers to enjoy this season with their families rather than create social media moments. I feel like that’s your message too!! Not just now, but always!! I promise I will read again in January whenever you blog again. No rush. ❤️ I know you are keeping it real!!
Wishing you and your beautiful family a very Merry Christmas..
Merry Christmas to you and yours! Enjoy the time off with your family :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for the reminder of the real reason we have Christmas.
So wonderful to hear you speak about our Lord and Saviour so succinctly Emily. And I think the verse you chose Isaiah 9:6, captures who He is and what He represents for us all. May the coming year bring you and your family even closer to Him.
Always look forward to your posts. God bless. xx
Merry Christmas to you and you family, Emily! Thank you for being an oasis amidst the chaos of life for me to stop and appreciate the beauty in everything! See you in the New Year!
Merry Christmas, Emily! Way to go, keeping Christ in Christmas AND Jesus on the ol’ blog! I bet it could be tempting to forego His name at the risk of losing sponsors/advertising dollars? I don’t know. Maybe not. Either way, GOOD. JOB. It’s so refreshing. Hope you enjoy some meaningful moments with that beautiful family of yours.
What is that lovely wallpaper behind the tree with white balls???
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Emily! Thank you for all your hard work – you bring much joy to so many readers and their families. I love what Janice said about increasingly realizing the power of Easter in Christmas! Me too! I hope you’re having a wonderful vacation!
Merry Christmas Emily! Thanks for sharing!
