My Navy + Plum Thanksgiving Table

November 9, 2016

Today, I’m playing “Thanksgiving hostess” and setting up a little table to hopefully give you some fresh ideas for your own. (The twins thought I had set it up for their breakfast. Poor kids. . .) I knew I wanted to use rich, deep colors and landed on a non-traditional navy and plum combination.

I used my blue and white plates and some fun cabbage leaf placemats. I could only come up with four plastic chargers (I should get more) but it’s just enough “plum” to give the table some unexpected color. (The chargers are those inexpensive plastic ones that I spray painted for this tablescape.)

For my centerpiece, I used a grouping of these taper candle holders and made simple little floral arrangements in milk glass goblets. I used cabbages, wisteria (from the yard) and a little red cabbage (from the fridge), taking a color cue from the chargers.

I also set up a small serving station on the chest in the corner. To add more Fall color, I popped a mum in a planter that I already had.

I can’t believe those cabbage placemats are faux, they look so real! Beautiful color combo and I think I need some of those candlesticks now!

Oh! 2 other thoughts. These candle holders were on sale at my target! $5-$6 each! And, what color did you paint the chargers? So pretty!

I searched all over my garage and can’t find that spray paint can. I’m thinking it was a Valspar color…

I thought for sure those cabbage leaves were real! They would be so cute for Easter, too! I love everything and I adore that artwork. She’s been on my list for a while :)

I love that you incorporated the cabbage leaf placemats in your tablescape! Anyone living in the Charlotte area can purchase them at Brass Exchange Home in the Arboretum Shopping Center.
