Believe it or not, I spent last night putting together a Christmas(!) gift guide for a project I’ll be sharing with you later. I had to come up with some picks for the home decor lover. As someone who falls into that category, I will tell you that I actually cringe when I think of someone else picking out something for my home. (That’s bad, I know.) You know that saying about not having anything in your home that you don’t love. . . If someone else picks it out for you, we all know there’s no guarantee you’re going to love it.
Gift cards are a no brainer, but as the gifter, they can seem a little impersonal. There’s nothing better than finding—and giving—the perfect gift. With that being said, I thought it might be fun to share the best and/or worst gifts you’ve ever received for your home. (I know you all must have some good stories!) Since you can remain a little more anonymous than me, I’ll only share a positive one. ;)
My best friend gave me that little chinoiserie lamp pictured above 14 years ago, and I’ve used it on and off in all of our homes. It’s small so that it works in almost any room and is classic enough that it never goes out of style (even as my style has changed).
Okay, your turn. What’s the best/worst/funniest thing you’ve ever received for your home? (And, what did you end up doing with it??)
