Color lovers, rejoice! Fall doesn’t have to mean neutrals upon neutrals. In fact, if you take your trend advice from the J. Crew catalog that arrived in my mailbox last week, Fall is looking pretty bold. I thought it would be fun to see how their color formula might translate to accessories and fabrics for the home. How do you feel about deep pink (specifically “flamingo”), shades of blue and leopard print for Fall?
blazer // velvet pillow // ticking stripe pillow // abstract art // stripe blanket
When concentrating on one main accent color, layer different textures and weights. Not everything has to be heavy for cooler months. Think about draping a lighter blanket over the back of your sofa and pairing it with velvet pillows in a deeper shade.
blue abstract art /// pink lumbar pillow // leopard rug // outfit
Leaving (or inserting) some natural wood tones (like a coffee table or woven shades) can help this color scheme to feel more sophisticated.
If you’re revamping your room with new accessories and fabrics, art is a great place to start. You can pull shades of the colors from a painting when choosing your pillows and upholstery pieces. (PS—Leopard works great as a “neutral” in small doses.)
leopard pillow // pink pillow // blue floral pillow // navy sofa

That Schulyer Samperton room is everything!! And it’s over 90 everyday in Atlanta so I can’t even think about “Fall” anything… but if I did Leopard print pillows would come to mind :)
Here, too! :(
That catalog made me giddy with delight. I love hot pink, or flamingo as JCrew calls it. I have it all over my house and in my wardrobe. Great post!
I think this combination would make for a great, modern, little girl’s room. I wish I had a granddaughter so I could make up a room for her.
And here I’ve been calling it fuchsia all along. Thanks for including my flamingo lumbar with Greek key trim in your round-up.
You’re welcome :) Fuchsia actually sounds more Fall-like than Flamingo to me!
Here in Texas, it’ll be months before we see “fall” colors! And months before we wear “fall” clothes! Love having brighter colors going into September!
