I wanted to give you a little preview of a playroom project I’m working on over the next couple of weeks. I’m designing a space for the kids (and us), using the navy blue sectional we already have, some fun pieces from Target’s new kids’ line called Pillowfort, and this pretty floral wallpaper from Walls Need Love:
When working on a kids’ space, it’s fun to think outside of the box when it comes to color combinations. Blue and red are a pretty common pair, but throw a little mint and pink into the mix and it gives it a totally different feel.
wallpaper // bookshelf // striped bin // red basket // anchor // pink lamp
green chair // red lamp // dinosaur art // initial pillow // tufted ottomans
activity table // striped rug // “One of a Kind” sign // alligator // unicorn
I’ll be sharing how this space turns out a little later this month.
PS—We found our sectional at a furniture outlet, but this one is a similar style.
Love this combination! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
That’s a lovely colour combination, I would never think of pairing these colours, would you share how you go about making your colour pairings?
I love those colors! I’m using a similar color scheme for a shared kids bedroom soon, just waiting to find out if our newest arrival is a boy or girl before grabbing new items. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Love the color combination, Emily — what a fun space! Looking forward to seeing it come together. Hope you’re having a great summer!

I love the palette–it’s so unexpected and cheery! I can’t wait to see the finished product. :)
