If you’re not already a smoothie drinker, Summer is a great time to start. I’ve been drinking this concoction almost every day since the twins were born four years ago. After my delivery scare, I had to concentrate on eating better to get my platelet counts back to normal. I’ve always had a hard time downing milk or Greek yogurt, but this makes it easy for me to get my dairy, greens and some protein on a daily basis.
I always use bananas, strawberries and spinach, but if I have other berries or fruits, I sometimes throw those in, too. The cayenne pepper is my favorite part. It gives it a kick. My kids think it’s disgusting when I add that, which works out for me because no one touches my smoothie.
By the way, after going through several, I finally found a reasonably priced blender that I like.
