How To Create a DIY Outdoor Kitchen

May 23, 2016

Grilling season is upon us, and in my latest video for Wayfair’s YouTube channel, I’m showing you a super simple way to impress your guests. Even if you’re short on patio space, you can create the look of a pretty outdoor “kitchen” (aka grilling/serving station) using stone pavers from your local home improvement store.

In case you’re wondering, I used 60 pavers for this project. (They are usually around $3 a piece, but I got them on a weekend when they were on sale.

Awesome idea! And so economical, too. We’re about to move to the deep south to be closer to our kids and six grands (three weeks before departure date!) to a neat house but it doesn’t have a patio area (yet) for our grill or the green egg. This will get us thinking on what we’ll do. Thanks so much.

That’s what I love most about your blog and design ideas. Always keeping it simple. I love this idea. I have a small deck in my townhouse but I could definitely do this and keep my bbq grill in a more permanent and aesthetically pleasing position

I was just talking with Micah yesterday about how we could make the grill look better but we both felt like the only alternative was a crazy expensive outdoor kitchen. This is so brilliant!

So smart, Emily! We’re finishing a patio this summer and I’ve been starting to look at built-in grill options. What a clever way to make a regular grill look like a custom outdoor piece!

amazing! I know what you mean by a workout using these pavers, as I’ve done other projects with them. This looks so good!

This is fab! I have a question, I noticed the Dasani cans in one pic. Are they any good? I’ve been wanting to try them but I’m afraid they will be like LaCroix which I don’t like. Thanks!
