Deal Alert: (Cordless) Bamboo Shades

April 25, 2016

I just had to let you know about this great deal on a really pretty (cordless) bamboo shade from JCPenney. I posted about them on my Facebook page earlier today and got some good feedback. (Someone even shared a picture of them in their house under my post, if you’re interested in seeing them in real life.) Right now, they’re 50% off with another 25% off, if you use the code FAMILY at checkout. I just ordered shades for eight(!) windows and only paid around $240. (The code for the additional percentage off ends tomorrow, 4/26.)

(Image via BHG. Not the exact same shade but a close match to the color, and these would work great for layering. . .)

I’m using most of the ones I ordered in our kitchen. I love the golden color and like that they’re thicker than the matchstick blinds I’ve used in our past houses. Hope this helps anybody who’s in the market. . .

Just an FYI. I purchased these about 2 years ago and within a month one broke, and another broke a few months after that. So I took them all down. I suppose they would be good as only decoration but definitely not for regular use. I contacted customer service as soon as the first one broke but they didn’t do anything.

I have these on every window in my house. Bought for two rooms, then two more, etc etc. I LOVE THEM. I think they go on sale frequently – I’ve always paid about 50% off. I haven’t had any issues with them – have been very happy with how they look (and how much I paid!;).

Thanks for the heads up. I wish I knew the name of the fabric used on the drapes in the BHG photo. I LOVE them too! Can’t find the original source. I’m inspired!

Erin, It’s this fabric by Duralee:

Or, Overstock has these curtains in a similar pattern:

    Hi Emily!
Quick question – we have very wide windows. Where you do recommend going to find a similar cordless roman shade for 58″ and wider? Thanks!

In our last house, I ended up just ordering two for our wide window…
