Spring Fever? Try These Colors. . .

March 1, 2016

Need some fresh color inspiration for your home? I love this “color palette of the year” featured in this month’s BHG. It’s happy and fresh—without being too loud. It’s made up of a soft gray, “blush” pink, smoky blue, mint green and an unexpected, vibrant orange.

BHG 2016 Color Palette of the Year Do you still tear pages out of magazines?

I knew there was a reason I loved these colors. . .

So, you love these colors but don’t want to commit to painting any walls? Here are some ways to pull in this palette with a few accessories:

gray sofa   //   blue rug   //   floral pillow   //   bench   //  blue & white jars

And, suddenly, I want to bring a little blush and bashful into our living room. . .  :)

I’m laughing I’ m in charge of our ladies night at church in April and the theme is “Blush and bashful” and I’m going crazy with pink, quotes from the movie and our speaker is talking about women supporting one another. The verse is from Thessalonians. I may try to get my hair to look like a brown football helmet :))) Oh, And I love the color palette!!

Wow – I feel so ahead of the times :-) When we moved into our house 3 years ago, I couldn’t replace the mint green carpet in the master, so I decided to work with it and bring in creams and soft blues, with pops of orange. I love how happy and soothing it is. It’s so funny, I feel like your new house is totally channeling my house!

I would love to bring those Spring colors into my home. My current monochromatic blue scheme is getting boring.

Hmmmm I never thought I was into blush but seeing it in relation to your art has me all googly-eyed, so pretty with the blue, green and the brighter orange!!

I always adore blush in spring and summer. They make your home feel fresh and happy. You were ahead of the trend with your beautiful artwork, once again! Best wishes on the BHG Awards!

Too funny — am getting ready to paint my bedroom blush pink (Soft Shoe, by Behr).

I have a green chiang mai pillow that I just moved to my family room! I have several chiang mai fabric pillows and have gotten so much use of them! Totally worth the money. Great post!

Thank you for sharing this! I am delighted to see this palette since it’s now living large in both our home’s wall colors & accessories. Tried as I might, I could not get behind the gray trend & white was not a good option as our house lacks bright, natural light. So, a year ago, needing to repaint, I just jumped to what spoke to me–color, using a vintage Persian rug as inspiration. In our home, this palette has worked–yes, “color me happy”!
