Does your patio or porch need a little Spring refresh? Outdoor fabrics are getting better looking every year, and outdoor spaces are looking more like cozy extensions of your home.
But, I refuse to pay a lot for something that will inevitably not last more than a few seasons. I found these great outdoor fabrics—all for under $10/yard.

I had no idea that Amazon sells fabric. AND I need outdoor fabric! Thanks
This is a discussion I had with my mom last night! The Easter Bunny was considering recovering my daughters’ play house roof and adding curtains this year. The question was of the longevity of an outdoor acrylic fabric vs Sunbrella (I think there’s also a brand called Outdura). Would you skimp or splurge on the roof fabric for something like that?
Hmmm… If it was something that wasn’t going to be under cover, I might opt for the Sunbrella. Not familiar with Outdura. (Nice Easter bunny you have, btw.)
Sometimes I like to use indoor/outdoor products indoors too, simply because it’s so much easier to clean when I have kids and pets! Some of it is fairly soft still, too (and washing it a couple times can help soften it up). It can get super pricy, though, so thanks for the suggestions!

Like Dani, I also like using outdoor fabric indoors. I’ve noticed sun damage/fading on some of my upholstered pieces & am now thinking they need recovering in an outdoor fabric.
Also…Outdura fabrics can’t be put in the dryer. Just in case that’s an issue for some folks.
Fabricguru.com has a good selection of outdoor fabrics. They’re one of my favorite fabric websites.
Outdoor fabric also makes good placemats, if you have a knack for sewing. They don’t even have to be washed; just wipe off goop.
Great tip! Although I’m no seamstress :)
I just found the cutest outdoor pillows at Walmart. $5 for adorable navy anchor pillow. There was also one with birds on it that was so cute. It is going to cost me a fortune to buy the furniture to go with it! We sold our last set because the cushions needed to be recovered. I figured having them recovered (I don’t sew), would be as expensive as a new set.
When I saw the prices, I was thrilled! I ordered the blue from row 2. The fabric arrived today. Unfortunately the pattern was HUGE, like the size of dinner plates. It would dwarf the dining room chairs I planned to use the fabric on. My hope is to try to return the 3 yards I bought, but in the event I can’t, live and learn I suppose. I think just looking at the swatches online doesn’t give one a proper pattern size perspective.
Anyway, love your blog! I read every post!
