When I was designing for clients, I would often hear, “I want the Pottery Barn look.” And, I would know exactly what that meant. But, I’ve noticed lately that PB is changing things up, with more vintage-inspired pieces and accessories that would never make you think “oh, that’s from Pottery Barn.” I shopped their site for a while the other day and found that many things look like what I would actually look for at the flea market.
In fact, some of their product is now sourced from collectors. And, I love that. True, the price might not always be what you get if you spent a day scouring vendor booths, but convenience is often worth something. And, I think every room can benefit from a piece or two looks like it has a little history (even if it technically doesn’t.)

I love pottery barn and the items you highlighted. Time to shop!!!
I’ve wanted a federal mirror forever… clearly I’ve just needed to head to the mall!
It’s wonderful that Pottery Barn upped their game and you can now create a room that looks as though it has been decorated over time with their items. Love PB!
You have featured my favorites from Pottery Barn right now! I received the Federal mirror for Christmas and I can’t wait to hang it above our fireplace!! I also love all the blue and white now, too.
I was so impressed with the recent catalog!
I was there last night checking out there items the botanicals on canvas you have listed they also have them on pillows and they are gorgeous! I loved all the blue transfer ware too! Loving the direction!
*their not there (:
So funny…I picked up a federal mirror at an antique mall last fall, in part because I noticed yours an then started noticing them other places.
The blue wing back is apparantly not for sale, but that makes me happy b/c I have 2 of that EXACT style including the squared off wings and the nail head trim. Just haven’t been able to get rid of them b/c they were expensive, but now perhaps they will come back in style if they are picture in PB catalog. Transferware, dough bowls, blue & white, botanicals—I have a lot of that stuff from flea markets from the LAST time all that stuff was in style. I got rid of a lot when we moved, but some of the classics could not be parted with, and now I am glad!
I’ve noticed that recently too! I stopped even looking there awhile back because it was looking “outdated scary country”.
Love those botanical prints and the federal mirror. Always a classic.
I have veered away from Pottery Barn in the past few years as I felt like it was getting a bit tired (I have seen/been shown a lot of the same items for years), but I love some of these newer things! Thank you for showing a side of a store I wouldn’t normally go into!
I received some PB gift cards for Christmas & they are burning a hole in my pocket. To bad they don’t carry the sconces you recommended for my bedroom yesterday.
Shoot. I should’ve source more from there :)
I actually just looked for you and didn’t really see any that compare… Did you?
No I didn’t see anythin either.. Plus I’ll need plug-in versions. I’m sure I’ll find some sooner or later. I need time to save up anyways.
When I get something I’ll be sure to update you. Thanks again for your help.
PB can always provide a few things to fill in your room with a great price point! They have their feelers out and when they see a good look it is on the shelves quickly!
