I think I found Lauren through a blog comment or Instagram and loved her relaxed, happy style. If possible, I think her home is just as cute as she is. :)
New traditional style in Louisville, Kentucky.
Myself, the art teacher and design lover
My husband Mike, the gym enthusiast
Ari, the wild two-year-old son of ours
Gertrude, the overly nice, and borderline annoying, cat
Abby, the dog who hogs the bed
AND Max, our baby boy on the way
Artful, eclectic, small doses of traditional charm, simple, and comfortable. I like items I’ve had to hunt for. Symmetry makes me happy, and the color green will never leave my style radar. I’ve been noticing a new interest in minimal neutrals that I’ve been introducing into my home, probably stemming from the desire to feel less cluttered. If it’s not functional or beautiful (to me), I don’t want it around.
I love the little pockets of function we’ve created within our home, and that all of the design decisions we’ve made are based solely on how our family lives. For example, we had a custom toy storage unit built to be placed under the bar area, when naturally that space was intended for bar stools. Big baskets in the living room hold toys for the days we are too lazy to actually put toys in their place. We’re fine with being lazy, and we’re fine with making life easy. Another favorite is that this it’s our first home filled with lots of these early marriage and parenthood memories.
