Hi! I still technically feel like I’m on vacation this week, but wanted to check in with you all. I’m working on the blog a little, reading this book (it’s fun!), drinking a lot of coffee and shopping after-Christmas sales online. And, now, for a few random updates. . .
The most fun and furious five minutes of the year.
We’re visiting my parents in Kentucky this week, and it has rained sideways ever since we got here.
Yesterday, we attempted pictures with the “whole family”, which included eight kids. Some were happier than others, and none of them wanted to be dressed up. That was fun. . .
I wore this dress for family pictures. (Really comfortable and gathered in all the right places. . . )
A few other online finds. . . (Nordstrom is having their big half yearly sale right now, by the way.)
These blousy tunics are on sale for $25. And, I do like “blousy”. :)
And, this stripe tee is the kind of thing I end up wearing every day.
I’m still thinking about this cape. (I think I might like the black better. . .)
I also had a minute to sneak out and go thrifting. I did especially well in the art department. (My dad would like credit for finding two out of three of these.)
In non-thrift-related finds, I’m so close to pulling the trigger on this Robert Abbey light (from Joss & Main) for our living room. There’s still a gaping hole in the ceiling where we removed a ceiling fan, and it’s so dark in there. A flush mount (for our 8’ ceilings) with a lot of style seems like a win/win.
And, finally, my latest article for Better Homes & Gardens is live. I found five of the cutest calendars for the new year—many perfect for framing.
Check back again this week. I have a fun organizing project to share.
We have that Robert Abbey ceiling fixture in our master bedroom at the foot of our bed. We have 7 1/2 ft ceilings. I love the fixture and my husband said it was good quality and easy to install.
Loved your comment “the most fun and furious five minutes of the year”! So true!
Perfect!!!! I snagged an olive tunic top! Thanks so much! I love your blog – happy new year! Keep doing what you are doing :)
