We survived Halloween, which means it’s officially okay to starting pinning Christmas ideas—right?
Just a few ideas to save now and do later.
These images make me want to. . .
Find the perfect tabletop tree for our entry.
Make some foam snowball garland. . .
Hang a little boxwood wreath on my federal mirror.
Invest in some actual, matching stockings this year.
Drape some really drapey garland on our mantel.
Be more thoughtful in my gift giving.

Hang a big wreath on the light by our garage.
Make our table feel special with simple centerpieces.

Hang lighted garland on a doorway.
Have at least one undecorated tree.
Have the Christmas itch at all yet??
I’m getting the itch after seeing all of this gorgeous inspiration!! Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I’m ready to bring on all the Christmas glory! The older I get, the more I long for simplicity in my Christmas decor. But I also remember how fun it was as a kid when my mom went all out with decorations., and I want to do that for my girls. Working on finding a balance between the two ?
Me, too! Aren’t you glad our moms didn’t have Pinterest? :)
Emily, I LOVE your style!! Your blog is one of the first I check everyday :)
Thanks, Amy! So glad you enjoy it.
If you find a great tabletop tree, please share the source! I have the same pin in mind for my own little tree but haven’t found anything great locally, and I’m afraid to order a flocked tree online.
I’m on the hunt for some new stockings this year, too. Let us know if you find any good ones ;) Loved all these ideas!
I love the picture of the lush garland. One year I went all out with fresh greens. I told myself this was perfect because after the holiday, I could just throw them out instead of having to pack them up.
What I ended up creating was a huge house fire just waiting to happen. They got so dried out! And what a mess gathering them up for the garbage bags.
I learned a valuable lesson that year. Life in a magazine photo is not the same as real life.
They do dry out so quickly! But, they’re really nice for those couple of weeks :)
SO ready! Especially since we will be gone for much of November so confession – the “Christmas closet” was opened this morning, I’m already putting a few things out to greet us when we return so I’m not playing catch up and instead can ENJOY the season! Loved this inspiration today!

I’m glad you said “do later”! Time already goes too fast! All great holiday ideas, thanks!
Thought you were going to say you wanted that adorable dog!
I have looked at replacing our hodgepodge of stockings for years! Funny, now that my boys are 20 and 16 I just can’t bring myself to get rid of their old hand made stockings because of the memories they bring. Sometimes those not-so-perfect decorations are what make a house feel like home.
Love those Kentucky basketball Halloween outfits! Sheila
I love the lighted garland! I added that to our Christmas decor on the double door in our family room about two years ago. Really added to the space. You should definitely do it!
I absolutely love every single idea you posted….now how to incorporate them into a house filled with moving boxes!?!? (We move November 25th and it will kill me to be unpacking instead of putting up trees/garlands/decorations, etc. the weekend after Thanksgiving!!)
