1 Gorgeous Fall table and entertaining inspiration.
2 A traditional and classic designer portfolio. (Project III is my favorite.)

3A blog is only dead when you are.
(Interesting perspective, especially after my post here.)
4 I just bought these and might wear them every day now. . .
5 A big change for this living room’s walls.
6 I really love the layered look of this home.
(And, I was surprised at some of the comments. What’s your take?)
I saw a few comments criticizing the practicality of her space-is that what you meant? I kind of get that-but to me, it’s like any design aesthetic-it may not be exactly (or at all) what I would pick, but I appreciate how everyone likes different things. I think her apartment clearly represents her-she loves European pieces, antiques, books, travel. For me-it’s not as streamlined as I would have-but I can see (just like a piece of art) that it’s beautiful and she loves it.
Yes, I kind of loved all of the stuff everywhere…. Now, maybe not if I lived there with five kids, but I think it’s great for her.
That apartment makes me dizzy, but to each her own.
I love the collected look, and after my two years in Europe its a good thing. I think I now have way too much stuff. What I apparently don’t have enough of is books. I’m looking at this apartment and those great books and thinking I may need to spend a few hours on Amazon adding to my collection. With Pinterest we a spoiled with having a million design ideas at our fingertips but I so love a good design book!
Me, too :)
I tend to prefer less stuff on furniture and walls, especially these days as we declutter in preparation of retiring and moving to a smaller place in a few years. I can imagine it would be fun to have more of a layered look with gallery walls and collections, though. To each their own! The great thing about design blogs is that we get to look at how others decorate and live, taking away ideas that work for each of us. Thanks for another terrific Saturday 6!
Those boots look cool. What kind of jeans do you wear with them? Boot cut? Skinny?
I’ve never bought ankle boots before so I’m not sure what looks best.
I just wear them with my skinny jeans and usually cuff them. I think they also look cute with dresses…
Hi Emily!
I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoy your blog. You do a wonderful job!
Thanks for all your hard work:)
Elizabeth, thank you so much!
I loved that Decor8 post. Kinda made me breathe a huge sigh of relief, like someone else gets what I feel. Blogging is such a love/hate thing for me. Not writing one just getting caught up in all the competitive, empty, keeping up with the Joneses parts! I like for it to just be simple and sometimes that feels so impossible anymore :(
I loved the post in number 3. A few years ago, I created a blog to help me share my knowledge with people newly-diagnosed with celiac disease, and while it was fun for awhile, I kind of lost interest in it. In all honesty, I quickly found myself more interested in living a life worth blogging about than making a blog worth reading. The post you shared just confirms that I’m right for my recent decision to let it go, because it’s no longer bringing ME joy, and that’s what matters. Apparently, I’m much happier as a reader than a writer!
Hi!
I am an avid reader but have never commented before. The Decor8 blog post really resonated with me. Lately, I have found myself not checking my favorite blogs as often and when I do being disappointed that the posts seem more about pushing product then genuine content. When I read a post and 8 times out of ten it ends with this “this post was sponsored by” or “this product was graciously provided by” I’m disappointed and feel like I’ve just read an advertisement and lose my connection a little more with that blog.
Couldn’t agree more with you, Maria Pos…
Thank you so much for the link to the decor8 blog post. That spoke to me and will help me as I try to figure out just what my blog is about.
Man that farmhouse is crazy good! I died.
