I blog a lot about artwork and sources, because I’m a firm believer that the right piece can “make” and often inspire an entire room.
Art: “Magnolia Farm Study” by Julia Lawing
sofa // ottoman // mirror // pillow // roman shade // paint // rug
For that reason, I always love to introduce you to new artists. I just discovered Julia Lawing, although she lives just outside of Charlotte. A lot of what she paints is based on areas around her (farmlands and coastal NC and SC) and places she’s visited, but I especially love that she told me she most wants her work to attest to Psalm 19:
“Heaven is declaring God’s glory; the sky is proclaiming His handiwork. One day gushes the news to the next, and one night informs another what needs to be known. Of course, there’s no speech, no words–their voices can’t be heard–but their sound extends throughout the world; their words reach the ends of the earth.”
Don’t you love that? His beauty is all around us—if we’ll just look up from our cell phones to see it :) (Guilty as charged.)
You can see all of Julia’s work on her site. (Pieces range from $300-$2000.)
Julia is giving one reader a $150 credit toward her art. To enter, use the Rafflecopter form below:
