Because I’m not sure where to start with the mounds of moving boxes, I just sat down and started looking for decorating ideas online instead. Productive, right? I’ll get it all done when school starts next week. (Ha!)
So, luckily, we really won’t need much furniture for this house. It’s roughly about the same size, with a couple of extra bedrooms, and everybody has their own space. My oldest daughter wants her own desk and has the room for it, so I did a quick online search and think this hairpin leg desk from World Market might be a fun, light look—especially if the legs were painted gold. (Plus, it’s on sale right now for $75.)
I actually kind of forgot about World Market for office furniture, but I found several good desk options that are on the smaller side (all on sale now). And, for fun, I paired them with the kind of chair I envision:
ONE: desk, chair         TWO: desk, chair + cover         THREE: desk, chair
FOUR: desk, chair         FIVE: desk, chair
(Thank you for allowing me to share my finds in the name of “work”, while avoiding the real stuff I should be actually be doing right now. . . )

I have #2 desk and it is solid and wonderful. But it is large so be sure to check dimensions if any of you want to consider it.
I believe you are experiencing unpacking avoidance syndrome – it’s real. But I love the desk and chair combos!!
Yes! I think that’s the official diagnosis ;)
I recently bought a desk like your first one and I kind of love it. The top has a grey wood tone to it.
I love the desk you found, and the idea to make the legs gold. Something to think about … I bought a desk for our older son several years back of similar design. The lack of a drawer was somewhat of an issue over time.
I saw that desk the other day and thought “how cute is that!”…..of course painting the legs gold is a brilliant idea:)
I just recently bought a desk too but it was more like no. 5 as I needed drawers. If I didn’t, your desk would be the one I would choose too. It looks so modern.
