Insta-Update: Make Your Bed (Take A Picture.)

July 20, 2015

Ahhhh, there’s nothing like a made bed to make you feel better about life when the rest of your house is out of control. (I wrote more about that here.)

Are you up for a little Monday challenge? I thought it would be fun to start a hashtag where we can share our photos on Instagram. (And, I’d love to start sharing some of yours on the blog from time to time!) So, this week’s challenge: make your bed (I mean, I’m sure already have. . .) and use the hashtag #EACstyle to share. Look forward to seeing your fluffy covers and mountains of pillows. :)

GREAT IDEA! A freshly made bed each & every day is a nice way to feel organized – and it looks pretty , too. I am trying to teach this concept to my teenagers. Ha! It is a little more difficult than I thought it would be.

How do you get your bed to look so fluffy?? No matter what I do my comforter always looks deflated. Any tips would be much appreciated because I too, feel that when the rest of the world is a ball of stress, a freshly made bed is an island of calm.
    Thanks!

This is the comforter I have, and it’s pretty fluffy to begin with: https://emilyaclark.com/2015/01/what-ive-bought-lately.html

Then, I make it look extra fluffy by doing the half fold and then folding it one more time :)

I agree that making your bed makes a big difference to how you start off your day. When I was younger, I didn’t see the value in it, and often had a messy bed. Now I make my side of the bed up before my husband is even awake! I’m trying to instill the making the bed routine in my boys – hopefully one day it will stick!

Ha so true about a bed that is made making all the other disorganization and mess feel a little less overwhelming! That and having a clean car, makes me feel much better. Fun IG challenge, I’ll participate!

While I totally agree with this sentiment, I most likely will NOT be posting a picture of my bed to IG because it is never made!! Our bedroom is the only room upstairs and I’ve sorely neglected it, starting with failing to make up the bed. Great reminder – maybe I’ll be motivated to pick this habit back up. Can’t wait to see others’ beautifully made beds, however!

What happened to the white duvet cover with navy trim? I loved that look on your bed!

I had a habit of making my bed about a year ago. I really need to get back to it! Great challenge!
