I met Amy once while standing in line at the mall and again at the Lowe’s event I did a few months ago. She came to me for design advice, but I thought her home was already really beautiful and asked if she’d like to show it off on the blog. Luckily, she agreed.
>soft wall colors that flow from room to room
>rich textures (a kilim rug-covered ottoman, sisal rug, etc.)
>lots of white frames keep walls and art clean and simple
>statement lighting

What a gorgeous home, Amy!!! Love it all! Is that a Lindsay Letters canvas in the nook? xo, Claire

So soothing! I love the art pair over the sofa, do you know the source?
Thanks! They are from West Elm.

When choosing paint for a living room and dining room. What do you prefer… flat, eggshell, semi-gloss?
I’d love to know the answer to this too!
Could you give the name of Amy’s blog?
She doesn’t blog.
What a lovely home! So soft and clean and bright. May I ask, what paint colors did you use in the kids play room (the light blue/aqua) and in your master bedroom?

Hi! Love everything you do! Where is that rug from? It’s gorgeous!
LOVE this series and all your takeaway tips!
Hi Emily,
Love Amy’s lovely home and love your blog. Approachable, doesn’t make me feel bad about how long it takes to get anything done among all of life’s other responsibilies. Coincidentally, a home tour you linked on the Saturday 6 a couple of weeks ago in St. Louis is that of an old friend of ours from a past life without kids. I still had her address, so thank you for inspiring me to send her a quick note to say hello and compliment her on her beautiful everything. Then, imaging my surprise to see “Amy” on your blog last week. I hesitated to comment here because we met when through exboyfriend/her brother. You may or may not be surprised that a break up in my twenties still makes me cringe, and I don’t keep in touch with his family. Please tell her Wendy says hello and it was so nice to see her lovely face and adorable girls!
It’s a small world after all :)
Hi, Wendy!! Wishing you health and happiness from all the Sugarmans and Sweeneys! xo
Thanks, Emily, for posting!
Love this series, Emily! Amy’s home is beautiful and it’s so great to see inside REAL homes not just overly designy/trendy spaces. :) Awesome!
Thank you for sharing this lovely, yet very livable home with us. The lighting in each room really adds that extra touch. Do you have a source for the two-tier chandelier in the tv /living room? Thanks.
Found it! Shades of Light. Thanks for the inspiration!
