Earlier this week, my husband asked me if, for my Mother’s Day gift, I’d rather have A.) Beats by Dr. Dre or B.) a night in a hotel all by myself. If you know me at all, I think you know which one I chose. Mind you, I’ve never indicated to anyone I’d like a large pair of headphones to stick on top of my hair. At least he asked first—right?!
And, honestly, I usually buy myself a “little something” for Mother’s Day, anyway. While I was looking through this site, I thought I’d pass along some favorites—that you could possibly pass along to your significant other. (Ahem, the extra 30% off with coupon code FIESTA30 ends tonight—and expedited shipping is available!) Not a sponsored post, just a PSA :) I’m ordering this one.

I’ll be sure to report back on my night alone—when I find time to make that happen. :)

The title of this post truly made me laugh out loud! Oh boy. Husbands are funny . Promise you will find a night very soon to use that amazing gift! I’m excited for you! Happy Mothers Day, Emily!
Gosh, what is it with husbands. Ha, ha. At least he had an “or.” My husband had me do my own Christmas shopping this last year. At least I got what I wanted. :p I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting my own flowers for Sunday, too. :) Happy Mother’s Day!
Men! God love ’em. I have a hunch I’ll be getting a fit bit, or something equally romantic and girly…
I hope you get to enjoy your hotel night soon! I just bought myself a new Keurig. I’m hoping to also get a hanging flowering plant from my boys. I am not sure if I’ve hinted enough, though. That was the standard in my family when I was growing up. Buy mom a plant. So funny that your husband thought you wanted headphones. :)
Or… maybe he’s actually pretty clever, and was just setting you up so that you would think the hotel idea was the best ever. Maybe he was really just looking for an excuse to not have to go shopping, but didn’t want you to think he hadn’t thought of something to get you. Ha. :)
The first time I ever went to a hotel by myself was after I had my twin girls. They were 8 months old and my very busy son was 2 years…thinking back the 12 years since then I see why people used to stop me in the grocery store and say things like “wow, you’re busy!” I remember getting into the hotel room, dumping my bags and turning on the tv but only half lying down on the bed, with one leg hanging over the edge. I was so used to getting interrupted whenever I sat down it took a long time to realize I really could put both feet up. But the very best part was no talking. At all. Ahhhh, bliss. We went on to have one more beautiful boy to make it four and I am so grateful for my children. But I have to say, a hotel room by myself every now and then is still the best gift ever. ;-)
Oh honey I would have booked the second after he asked that question. And the headphones…bless him :)
That is priceless! Your husband and mine would be best friends! The hotel sounds like a much better gift. ;-)
