Real Life, Real Style: Camille’s Bungalow

April 2, 2015 13 Comments

I first “met” Camille through our blogs when we worked together on her online design project a few years ago. She lives with her young family in California, and I’ve since been a fan of her easy, relaxed style and how she proves that you can pack a lot of punch into a small house. She’s not doing much blogging these days, so I asked her if she would let me share some recent photos of her home here.

      • soft, neutral walls throughout
      • fresh greenery or flowers in every room
      • warm wood tones; few painted pieces
      • antique/vintage furniture mixed with more modern accessories and art
      • no heavy window treatments so natural light streams in

PS–Camille has a beautiful Instagram account. Follow her here.

Thanks for the lovely feature, Emily. It’s always interesting to find out a little bit about your own design style when you can’t quite see it yourself!

Absolutely beautiful. We plan on downsizing next year and these is exactly the look I’m going for, it’s not too trendy but not at all dated, it looks like everything means something and not bought to fill up space. I love it, thank you for sharing!!

Emily, I am so glad that you shared this creative home. Perhaps a gentle nudge so Camille will blog more? I love a home that expresses the owner’s artistic eye.

Wow, I love this home! I have several antique pieces of furniture (I even spot two near identical matches in her home!) that I’ve always tried to style to keep looking current and fresh. She gave me a few new ideas, too! I have always loved the look of natural wood and hoped to see it show up more on blogs. Beautiful home!

That is exactly the type of house I picture when I dream about an escape form the stress of everyday life! Perfect!
