Happy 2015! I’m glad to be back after taking some time away from my computer. We made the trek to Kentucky to visit our families, and in classic Griswald family vacation style, our minivan died (forever—R.I.P.) about 30 miles from our destination. If only we had the whole ordeal on video. . . It involved tears, smoke and me throwing five kids into the nearest ditch. Makin’ memories, as we like to say!
I’ll be back with a Saturday 6 post and a (mostly) normal posting schedule next week. Until then, here are a few of my most popular posts from the past year:

So sorry about the minivan breakdown. I’m sure once you all were with your families, everyone felt much better and maybe a chuckle or two occurred. Just maybe. I know I have read your given posts, but I truly am pleased to reread several now that I need to buy furniture for my 2015 updated living room. A blessed new year to you and your family filled with happiness and smiling faces.
Emily I had to laugh about throwing 5 kids in a ditch. I had a similar experience when we lost our luggage on a 5 lane freeway in Pomona Calif. I had 5 little boys that I kept telling get down in the ditch and away from passing cars, so I totally know the fear and angst!! Hopefully a new car will be wonderful addition to your sweet family. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year! Just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed reading your blog over the past year. I was reminded how many funny, creative posts you’ve done looking through the list of your most popular ones. Looking forward to many more in 2015!
So excited you mentioned the post about your process when doing a room. Not sure how I missed it during the year, but glad to see it now! Sorry about the van :-(
Emily- so glad you are back- I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blah and your posts. You are SO REAL- I just love keeping up with you and your talent. You have a big fan in Oregon. Happy new year.
Emily- I’ve been a longtime reader (or stalker) for years and am always inspired by your style and real-life issues. As a mom of 3 without an unlimited budget, I always appreciate bloggers who do seem more like friends with great style than experts who recommend things that are out of reach or just crazy expensive. Thank you for sharing and I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for you!
Happy New Year Emily. Is the picture of the van your actual van? It looks like ours only yours looks younger. I saw it and thought ” that can’t be the actual van that died.
