I say it every year, but this Christmas I really do intend to make things easier on myself. Part of that means not stressing myself out over trying to get family pictures together for our Christmas cards. (That’s going to have to wait until Spring.) So, I ordered a $5 “selfie stick” online (yes, I did) and threatened my family with dressing up for “real” family photos if they didn’t agree to participate—with a joyful attitude. They were joyful alright.
Ten minutes of screaming through our teeth and 386 iPhone pictures later, and we were all done!
I guess I could’ve made things really easy this year and skipped cards altogether, but it’s one my very favorite traditions. I ordered this year’s cards from Paper Culture. I felt like there was enough going on in our picture that I chose a really simple “Merry Christmas” design and was able to personalize the wording on the back (and add one of our “outtakes”).
If sending cards is on your to-do list, Paper Culture is offering 50% off all holiday cards today! They provided our cards this year, and I will tell you that they are awesome to work with. Great service—they even contacted me by phone before printing to go over some questions I had about the photo I ended up using. And, they are an eco-friendly company, in their printing process and planting a tree for every order.
Fun pictures…..which one did you choose??
I didn’t post the exact one I picked–but you get the idea :)
I choose the first one in the second column. We all need to tone down Christmas choas and strive to make Christmas simple and meaningful to honor Christ’s birth. With so many I think it has turned into a giant party and most have forgotten what are why they are celebrating.
Very fun! I’ve had trouble printing selfies in the past- they’ll look great on a screen, but then aren’t as clear in the printed version. Did you do anything special to keep that from happening?
