In case you’re new to how all of this works, I thought I’d give you a quick rundown of the process. The Home Depot sent me (and the other participating bloggers) the first box in early September, along with our assignments. Instead of a room this year, I was given “outdoors” and could decide how to interpret that. I decided to decorate our patio and started brainstorming (and sketching) how it might look all decorated for Christmas. A few weeks later, I received a slew of Christmas decorations from the Home Depot and Home Decorators Collection. I could use any or all of the pieces and had the freedom to alter them in any way to fit my design. We were also given a gift card if there was anything we wanted to add. I ordered a Christmas tree and a new outdoor rug that fit in my black, white and red color scheme.
It took me a couple of weeks to pull everything together, and then, my friend Katie and I did an official “install day.” Once it was all finished, I roped (some of) my kids into being my models for the official blog photos. (Some are very willing to participate. Others, not as much. Fortunately, I have plenty to chose from.)
Considering I risked life and limb to photograph it, I hope you’ll hop over to the Home Depot blog and let me know what you think of our winter patio. :)
