The Day They Actually Cooperated (And Finding A Great Family PHotographer)

October 6, 2014

Hart-to-Hart-session

A few weeks ago, I took the twins over to our favorite photographer’s house for their two-year-old pictures. I wasn’t entirely optimistic that it would go well (you never know), but they actually surprised me and were strangely cooperative. They smiled, hugged on cue and even posed with their hands in their pockets. That would never happen if I were taking the pictures.

One thing I love about working with Lindsay is that she doesn’t just schedule your photo session and tell you when to show up. She has such a good eye and creates a concept for the shoot based on your family’s personality. She’s great about sending me images ahead of time for the feel she wants the photos to have. (Of course, she asks for my input, but I never have any. . .  I’m lucky if I can just get my peeps bathed before the photos—and I totally trust her vision!)

She’s also really involved in the styling of the shoot and is awesome about helping me pull together outfits that will work best. In fact, she even tells me no sometimes when I’m headed the wrong direction—and I love that about her. :)

What to wear

So thankful she’s become the official photographer of the Clark clan. It’s no small task!  See our other photos by Lindsay here, here and here.

If you’re around the Charlotte area, you can catch Lindsay on NBC’s Charlotte Today Show every month. You can see more of her work and contact her through her site:

Emily, obviously you already know what beautiful children you have, but that little fellow is simply adorable. He looks like a real softy, the kind who loves to snuggle, doesn’t mind being held and who wears his heart on his sleeve. I just wanted to reach into those photos and give him a big hug.

Martha, I love that you can tell all of that from the photos. You described his personality perfectly! He is such a sweet, sensitive heart. (And, definitely a momma’s boy!)

Emily, your little twins are so beautiful! Seriously, they are too precious, and the photos could not have turned out any better. Way to go for those two little ones to cooperate so well and they look like they are having a great time!

Wonderful photos! What do you do with them all? You can only display so many. How to you choose which ones to display and how do you keep them all organized?

Adorable pictures, I’m pretty sure I can’t get my 4 and 8 year old to respond that well to the camera :) Question for you: I love the ‘what to wear fall 2014’ image but can’t find it on her site, can you point me in the right direction?

She sent me the image via email, so I’m not sure. I’ll see if she can help.

As a mama of two toddler girls, I wanted to laugh out loud at the photo of your little girl pulling her skirt up! :) I love that the photographer captured that all-too-often-occurrence in a decent way. As much as it makes me shake my head in embarrassment when my girls do it, it’s one of those classic, precious things little girls do. :) ALL the photos are lovely!
