I’m still easing into Fall around here—especially when it comes to decorating. I made some simple changes to our living room, blending in a few pinecones with what I already had, and adding touches of gold around the room. I also left a little bit of Summer in the mix, because seasons kind of naturally melt into each other anyway—right? It’s less obvious “Fall” than in other years, but somehow, the room seems cozier to me.
So, I hope you’ll enjoy these shots full of mushed pillows, slipcovers that need to be washed, leaning artwork that still needs to be framed and baby heads dashing in and out of the photos. Welcome to our (Fall) home. . .
Not until I was editing the photo, did I read the label on this old medicine bottle ;)
your living room is stunning! i love all of the natural elements and fall textures!
Thank you, Cassie!
I love it all. So fun to see the children pop in too. The touches of nature and gold are perfect.
I really like all the natural tones and elements you’re bringing in for autumn. It’s a nice way to emphasize the season without going overboard with pumpkins and witches and other typical fall decor!
Looks perfect Emily! Especially those darling baby heads :).
Love the kidlets in the pix! Where does one find wooden beads? I see them in quite a few home pix, but have never seen the beads for sale anywhere. Thanks!
I always look at the flea market. And, I lucked into the big gold beads at my Goodwill the other day. They had them locked up in the glass cabinet but they were only $5 :)
Beautiful and simple! Love those two Posable accessories! :)
Posable, maybe. Cooperative, maybe not ;)
I am so in love with your living room. I’m sure you’ve shared somewhere else on the blog already but where are your black bordered roman shades (and also the lampshades on the sconces) from? I have a new little one at home and have awful shades with cords in my new home (hello choking hazard!) and am looking to update with cordless roman shades. Thanks!
What color are your walls?
Amazing Gray by SW.
Hi Emily, first time for me on your blog! I guess you are also coming to Williamsburg this weekend! What fun!
It’s so interesting how you decorate — I have many similar items in our living room. Vintage books and bottles, succulents, sunburst clock… :)
Looking forward to meeting you!!
Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your blog!
Your living room is very pretty. I love the pics with your kiddos in them. They are getting so big.
What a beautiful room! Though it seems like you’ve always had lots of gold in the room…so what gold accessories did you have and what stays year round? I love brass/gold and want to leave lots up year round.
I love following your blog!
Thanks, Mariann. I always have the brass lamps and frames but for Fall, I added the gold beads, an artichoke on the coffee table and the bird on the mantel. I also leave out the brass planters year round. I think golds really work for any season.
The laxative décor was funny!
Don’t laxitives make you think Fall??! ;)
Emily,
Where did you get the mirror above your mantel. It’s beautiful. I so love your blog :)
Thank you, Kathleen. It’s from Ballard Designs, although I don’t think they still carry it.
It all looks so beautiful, Emily, and I love all of the attention to detail. The natural starburst mirror is gorgeous and the natural elements are the perfect additions for fall…love the antlers!!
It’s beautiful, Emily! I just love it.
I think I was with you when you bought the 7 and the large jar:) You have such great style Emily and I love those 2 little munchkins hanging out with you!
Very cozy, Emily!
So beautiful! Where did you find your leopard pillow or leopard fabric?
Thank you! I love your blog!
Beautiful and a room that you can live in with kiddos!! Not sure if you’re willing to share but I love the piece of art propped next to the fireplace, can you share where that’s from?
Love it all and your philosophy, refreshing as I have 10 mo old twins and another on the way but enjoy pretty spaces!!
Love your family room!
Does your twins grab the dear antlers???
Just curious, my 3 year old daughter will do so!
I love all the natural elements for fall!
Love that you are simple and classic with your seasonal decorations.
Hi! I would love to do a gallery wall like yours, and was wondering where you got all of your frames? Thank you so much!! So beautiful!!
I buy most of my frames at IKEA (some were spray painted gold).
Hi Emily,
I’m just curious about your paint color. I saw you said it was SW Amazing Gray. Do u still love it? I’m getting my house painted next week and with spending $2000 to get everything painted i want to make sure ill love it. Do u wish you’d gone lighter? Do you love your kitchen being the White?
Thanks so much,
Jenn
P.s. I’m so excited to see you at the Lowes in Huntersville next week.
I do really like it. It doesn’t come across as dark, just a soft neutral. I do wish our living room got more natural light, though… Look forward to meeting you next weekend!
Hi Emily,
I love the way you have transformed your house so beautifully. Even we have bought a 40 year old house 2 years back and we keep thinking to renovate it but don’t know where to start from. It will be really great if you can guide us to some pointers like any designers that we can consult etc.. will appreciate your help in this.
Thanks,
Manu
