Instead of working on the 78 other things on my house to-do list, I keep picking at the powder room, which was technically “finished” last year. (You have those rooms, too—right?) I still love the dark walls but the accessories just didn’t feel quite right. So, I made more changes. . .
For starters, I bought a framed Asian silk from the antique mall that I had walked by 83 times, trying to decide if it was right for our house. I’m glad I went with my initial instinct.
Okay, and I also added a bar cart. I was in Goodwill one day and found the one from Target that I had been admiring for a fourth of the price. So it was meant to be. . . I bought it, thinking I would put it in the corner of our kitchen. But, after the twins decided to ride it through the house, it had to go away. It’s a tight fit, but I like it. And, really, who doesn’t need a bar cart in the bathroom?
Wall color is Urbane Bronze (Sherwin Williams), by the way.
I love it! It all works!!!
Nice Goodwill find! Was totally in the stars. Also hilarious your children decided to ride it through the house. Ohh the things I have to look forward to with my little one. :)
I love the new art and the bar cart. Both are fabulous finds. Gorgeous powder room.
Urbane bronze is such a pretty color. I always loved the idea of putting a bar cart in a bathroom, but I never thought of it in a powder room. Great idea! The gold tone of the cart looks great against the dark gray wall.
sparkly updates! love how they shine against the dark walls.
Just love the bar cart – perfect for holding all the accessories and looks so pretty. And the art and mirror are gorgeous. Great tweaking…
Silly girl, don’t you know the house is never “Finished.” Love that print, the gold frame looks great with the paint.
I am dying of curiosity to know why someone would send that Target bar trolley to Goodwill. It’s so pretty. I too admired it in the store and if I’d had a place to put it, would have bought it in a heartbeat.
Is any room ever done!? Your powder room looks lovely.
I think it was actually Target overstock sent from the store. Our Goodwill (fortunately) seems to get a lot of that.
Hi, Emily! Love your bathroom…both ways! I love both variations! But just had to say I have that exact mirror over my powder room sink, but only in white gloss or lacquer (not sure). I went without a mirror for about 2 years because I could find NOTHING I liked. Then one day my mom and I stopped by the local Peddlers Mall and walked out with it… just like that! LUUUUVE when that happens!
Me, too! I found ours at a flea market and when he told me $25, I had to work hard not to hug his neck :)
It all looks wonderful. I love the Urbane Bronze. We used it on a wall in our home after I was inspired by how wonderful it looked in yours.
Thanks, one of my very favorites!
So rich looking, Emily… who doesn’t love a little glam in the powder room?
