Fall Decorating: The Modern Farmhouse

September 12, 2014

Fall decorating (farmhouse via Southern Living) Southern Living

I don’t often show new accessory collections on my blog, but I think this one is worth sharing. Target hit the nail on the head with their new Fall Threshold pieces inspired by the “modern farmhouse.” They’re warm, cozy and perfect for the season:

 Target Threshold Fall accessories

1. gold task lamp   //   2. gold and cream throw blanket   //   3.chevron accent rug

4. brass and wood bar cart (recognize this?)   //  5. wood tray

6. wood fruit pieces   //   7. sweater basket   //   8.  gold chevron pillow

9. gray dots throw blanket   //   10. pierced pattern hurricane

11. gray chevron pouf   //   12. cross accent rug

Happy weekend! Hope it’s starting to feel Fall-like where you live :)

It’s all so SO good! Modern Farmhouse is totally my style (with a touch of beach thrown in) and I dream of actually having a farmhouse to make modern one day :)

That bar cart is my favorite Target item ever. I actually have two of them :) I bought one for the dining room, then almost fell over when I saw one at Goodwill for $35 a couple weeks later. I could not leave it there! So, now I’ve got one in the office too :) My husband is probably going to fear #3 showing up if he finds out they are back in stock. That lamp is amazing too.

Target definitely keeps surprising me! I always feel so conflicted about them though; so many pieces seem to be direct knock-offs of more expensive brands (e.g. the rug reminds me of Annie Selke links fabric). I know that there are few truly original ideas, and you can’t beat Target’s prices and merchandising, but I feel funny buying pieces there (and other stores) too, when I know they get product ideas for free from other designers and bloggers! Don’t get me wrong, an hour in there without kids is a fun getaway for me :)

I love that accent rug! I wish it came in a larger size though.

While I am addicted to Target, I am totally crushing on the deer print that is in the Southern Living cover photo. Anyone know where to find this?
