I don’t think I ever told you, but I went to my first estate sale over the summer. I’ll go to a yard sale or thrift store all day long, but the thought of an estate sale always intimidated me. I guess I’ve heard too many scary stories about competitive dealers trying to beat you to the good stuff, so I’ve just stayed away. My experience overall wasn’t that scary, but I did show up really early, have to wait in the hot sun, make really quick decisions while trying to weave in and out of the crowd in a fairly small house, etc. Oh, and of course, I had to make sure to do it on a day when I had a babysitter. . .
A few of my estate sale finds.
BUT, there’s still that part of me that LOVES to hunt for those really unique pieces. That’s why I was so fascinated when Everything But the House approached me about doing a giveaway. Do you know about this site yet? It’s an auction site that connects buyers to unique items from estate sales across the country. They started in Cincinnati and have now expanded into Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Nashville and Columbus. But, they ship to anywhere in the country.
There are several reasons why I like this site:
–Every single item starts at $1.
–It’s super easy to navigate. Whether you just want to browse or are looking for a specific item, I was impressed with how easy and quick it is to shop. (Although, it’s hard to only spend a few minutes looking once you get started. . .)
–It’s a fair auction system. All buyers have seven days to bid and last-minute bids will add additional time to the clock, which means you can’t be outbid at the very last minute!
–White glove delivery available on larger pieces means no hassle of loading it up and hauling it home.
–There’s no feeling strange about rummaging through somebody’s stuff. (They’ve already done that for you!)
To make your first Everything But the House shopping experience even more fun, they’re giving one of my readers a $100 credit to the site:
I love the hunt for treasures
How much fun! Thanks for the opportunity!

Great giveaway. Thanks!
That is awesome. I actually wish we had more estate sales near us. It seems l only seem to see them on TV. :)
I live near Cincinnati and have bought items from EBTH in the past. They have an excellent website and very detailed photos and descriptions of items for auctions. Another handy feature they have is a keyword search that can be saved and you are alerted when that item comes up for auction. One warning though, the bidding can get fierce!
I had no clue this existed! Thanks for the tip!
I love estate sales and have decorated my house with many estate sale finds. I’m excited to check out this new site!
Been checking out EBTH and love it! Thanks for sharing. Do you know of something like this in the Charlotte or Columbia, SC areas? I only know of traditional Estate Auctions and like you said …they are a little intimidating. Haven’t worked up to going to one yet.

I don’t. But, thankfully this site ships anywhere :)
I live in Cincinnati and check out EBTH often, but have not bid yet. Prices do go high, but I like that you can follow a certain item…get emails of bids and reminder when it is ending.
Great site!
